Have you searched "web application development price in Bangladesh" more than twice? Then you know the pattern. One vendor quotes 35,000 BDT for an "app." Another quotes 18 lakh for what sounds like the same thing. Neither will explain why.
Nine times out of ten, the cheap quote is a WordPress template with a contact form glued on. The expensive quote is a real custom build, padded with three project managers you will never speak to. Both are technically web applications. Only one of them will still be running in eighteen months.
A web application is not a website with extra pages. It has user accounts and a database that changes. It has business logic that runs on a server, dashboards and role-based permissions. Sometimes it takes payments. Sometimes it connects to bKash, Nagad, SSLCommerz or a courier API. The price depends on how many of those pieces you actually need.
A small internal admin tool for a 6-person team is not the same animal as a multi-vendor marketplace with seller payouts. Anyone who quotes a flat "app price" without asking what it does is guessing.
I run this as a solo practice. I have spent about five years building for Bangladeshi businesses. That includes retailers, service providers, small SaaS owners and agency founders who got burned once. I do the discovery call and write the scope. I design the screens, write the code, deploy to the server and hand you the keys.
You always know who you are talking to. There is no "developer left the company, sorry" email six months in.
The pricing below is real, and I publish it on purpose. If your project fits inside one of the tiers, that is what you pay. If it does not, I quote custom from 3,00,000 BDT. The quote is itemised, so you can see where the taka goes. There is no "call for pricing" and no inflated retainer to win back a fake discount.

50,000 BDT is the real entry point for a small working web app from me. It is usually a single-purpose internal tool with login, one or two key workflows and a clean admin view. No "starting from" theatre.
50,000, 90,000 and 1,50,000 BDT cover most small to mid-size web apps. Custom builds start at 3,00,000 BDT. I quote them line by line, so you see exactly what each module costs.
You pay half when you sign the scope. You pay the other half on launch day, after you have logged in and clicked around. No surprise invoice in the middle and no hostage games at handover.
I do not start building until you sign off on the screens. If the design rounds take more time than expected, that is on me. The quote does not move because I guessed wrong.
Does your app need to take taka through bKash, Nagad, SSLCommerz or Rocket? Then I plan that work from day one. It is not bolted on later with a change-order invoice.
I have about five years of shipping web apps in Bangladesh. You message me directly on WhatsApp during the build. No account manager turns your words into a Jira ticket that loses half the meaning.
The biggest cost driver in any web app is the number of user roles. It also depends on what each role can do. A tool where one admin manages a list of orders is small. Now add customers who log in to track orders. Add delivery agents who mark items delivered, and finance staff who match bKash payouts. That is about four times the work.
Each role needs its own screens, permissions and edge cases. So when you compare quotes, ask the vendor to list the user roles and the screens for each one. If they cannot, they are not pricing your real project. They are pricing a sketch.
The second driver is integrations and data. A login form is cheap. Now make it call the bKash payment API, send an OTP through Alpha SMS, push a courier booking to Pathao or RedX and email a receipt. Each of those integrations is a multi-day job. You need sandbox testing and failure handling. You also lose a day when the bKash sandbox goes down during testing.
Hosting and running costs sit on top. A small web app on a basic VPS costs 500 to 2,000 BDT a month. A serious setup with backups, a staging server, a CDN and a managed database is closer to 3,000 to 8,000 BDT a month. Those costs repeat, and they are not my markup. They are what AWS, DigitalOcean or Hostinger charge. I quote them separately, so you know which taka go to me.

50,000 BDT is the published floor for a small, focused web app. Think of a single internal tool with login, a couple of workflows and an admin view. Most real business apps land in the 90,000 or 1,50,000 BDT tiers. Custom builds with many roles, bKash, courier APIs, dashboards and reports start at 3,00,000 BDT. I quote those itemised.
There are two reasons. First, they are scared that template sellers will undercut them. Second, they want to price each client by how much money they seem to have. A Gulshan office gets one quote, and a Mirpur startup gets another for the same scope. I publish numbers for a simple reason. If my price is wrong for you, I would rather you find out in 30 seconds than after three meetings.
It mostly comes down to three things: the number of user roles, the number of screens and whether real integrations are needed. At 90,000 BDT you usually get an app with one role, 6 to 10 screens and basic login. At 1,50,000 BDT you can have two or three roles and payment integration. You also get a proper admin dashboard with filters and exports, plus email and SMS alerts.
If payment is in scope, yes. I include it from day one inside the 1,50,000 BDT tier or the custom build. I have integrated bKash Tokenized Checkout, Nagad merchant payment and SSLCommerz many times. So I know the common traps, like sandbox quirks, IPN failures and the refund flow. I price the work honestly, and there is no surprise change order halfway through.
You pay 50% in advance after we sign the written scope. You pay the other 50% on launch day, after you have tested. Want to add scope after I have started? I price the addition separately, and you approve it before I touch it. Nothing grows in silence. If you cancel after design approval, the advance is non-refundable, because the design work is done. If you cancel before that, we work it out fairly.
No, and you should be wary of anyone who says they are. Hosting with DigitalOcean, AWS, Hostinger and others is a real monthly cost paid to the provider. It is usually 500 to 8,000 BDT a month, depending on app size. A domain costs about 1,000 to 1,500 BDT a year. Maintenance is optional, and I quote it separately if you want it.
