Why nobody will give you a straight website price in BD

What website development actually costs in Bangladesh, and why the quotes are all over the place

Ask five people "website development cost bd koto?" and you'll get five very different answers. A Facebook page says ৳8,000. A marketplace freelancer says ৳25,000. An agency says ৳2 lakh. In between, you hear a lot of "depends, sir". The work isn't a mystery.

Most sellers just won't commit to a number until they've taken your advance. The vague quote leaves them room to charge more later. I do the opposite. I tell you the price in writing before you pay anything, and it's the price you actually pay.

I'm RH Fardin. For about five years I've designed and built websites for businesses all over Bangladesh. I do every part myself: scoping, design, code, testing on real phones and launch. That matters for cost. There's no agency layer adding margin on top of margin. No junior quietly rebuilds your site from a free theme while you're billed for senior work.

When you pay me, you pay for the actual hands on the keyboard. You don't pay for a front desk and three people you'll never speak to.

My floor is ৳50,000, and I'm honest about why. Below that number, nobody is doing real development. They hand you a downloaded template with your logo dropped in. The ৳8,000 site isn't cheaper in the end. It's a cost you pay twice: once to the first person, and again to whoever has to rebuild it.

Cost in Bangladesh is also about trust, and trust is mostly about the advance. The usual horror story is simple. There's a slick portfolio and a number quoted on WhatsApp. Then 50% gets taken by bKash, and the work stalls or comes back as something you never approved.

My setup removes that gamble. We agree a fixed price before we start. You pay 50% advance to begin. You approve the design before I write any code. The final 50% is only due on launch. You always know what you're paying and what you're getting for it.

What actually drives website development cost up or down in Bangladesh

Price isn't random. It tracks how much has to be built and how much you need to own. The biggest cost driver is scope. A five-page business site with a contact flow is far cheaper to build than a store. A store needs a product catalogue, bKash and Nagad checkout, cash-on-delivery handling and stock you can update yourself.

After scope come other choices. Do you want custom design or a set-up template? How many pages? Do you need Bangla and English? Do you need a booking system or payment gateway? How SEO-ready must the code be from day one? A site built to rank in Bangladesh costs more up front than one that just sits there, but it earns that back. So no single "website development cost bd" number exists until someone knows what you're building.

Here's the part most sellers won't tell you. The cheapest quote almost always becomes the most costly project. The ৳8,000 to ৳20,000 sites skip the things you can't see. They're slow on mid-range Android over 4G, where nearly all your customers arrive. They break when you try to edit them. They're hosted somewhere you don't control, and nobody answers when they go down.

You pay for that in lost sales every day the site looks cheap to a buyer. Then you pay again when you hire someone to rebuild it properly. My ৳50,000 floor reflects what real development costs here. You get clean, fast, mobile-first code, built and tested by one senior person. The price is fixed, so the number you budget is the number you pay. You spend a bit more once instead of spending less twice.
