Affordable ecommerce, BD reality
Most BD store owners are sold a 3 lakh quote for what is genuinely a 50,000 BDT job
Walk into any agency in Banani or Uttara with the phrase 'ami ekta online shop banate chai' and you will hear numbers between 2,50,000 and 6,00,000 BDT before they have even asked what you sell. That price is not your store - it is their office rent, their account manager, their three juniors who will actually build the thing while a senior signs it off. You pay for the org chart.
I do this differently because I am the org chart. I am RH Fardin, a solo senior website designer and developer based in Bangladesh, and I personally design, build and ship every ecommerce project that goes out the door. No bait-and-switch, no 'project manager will get back to you,' no junior pushing your Pathfinder logo two pixels every Tuesday. Affordable here means I have cut out the four salaries between you and the keyboard.
A first store in BD does not need 80 features. It needs a product page that loads fast on a Banglalink connection, a bKash and Nagad checkout that does not break, an order form that asks for thana and area instead of a Western-style ZIP, and a stock list you can update from your phone while you are at the warehouse. That is the 50,000 BDT package. Everything beyond that - abandoned cart SMS in Bangla, multi-vendor, ERP sync, custom Pathao API integration - is real money for real reasons, and I will tell you which ones you actually need before you spend.
Around 5 years in, the pattern is boring and predictable. Stores that launch lean, learn what their buyers want from the first 200 orders, then reinvest in v2 - they win. Stores that spend 4 lakh on a launch full of features no one uses run out of marketing budget by month three. Affordable is not a downgrade. It is the smart entry.
