How pricing really works in Dhanmondi
Why two "similar" websites can quote 35,000 BDT and 2,00,000 BDT
Dhanmondi clients usually have the same opening line: "Bhai, ekta website korte koto taka lagbe?" The honest answer is — it depends entirely on what's behind the homepage. Two cafes on the same Satmasjid Road stretch can need wildly different sites. One needs a five-page menu site with a reservation form. The other needs an online ordering system that connects to bKash, Nagad, and a delivery rider app. Those are not the same product. They should not be the same price.
Most of the cheap quotes floating around Dhanmondi are a Bootstrap template, three stock photos, and a logo crammed into a header. It looks fine on the freelancer's laptop. On a buyer's mid-range Android scrolling at a traffic light near Kalabagan, it loads slowly, the buttons are tiny, and your contact form leaks straight to spam. You paid 18,000 BDT and your bounce rate is 84 percent. That is not cheap. That is expensive in a different currency.
I price the way a tailor on Road 5 prices a suit — measurements first, fabric second, then a number you can actually write a cheque against. For combined website design and development in Dhanmondi, the floor is 50,000 BDT for a focused brochure site. 90,000 BDT covers a serious multi-page site for a restaurant, clinic, school, or service business. 1,50,000 BDT covers something that needs WooCommerce, real bookings, or a member area. Custom builds start at 3,00,000 BDT.
What you pay me, you pay one person — the same senior who handled the strategy call, drew the wireframes, wrote the front-end code, and is going to be there at 11 PM the night before your launch. No project manager forwarding emails. No junior copy-pasting from a template marketplace. About five years of doing this, and Dhanmondi is one of the markets I know best.
