Most agencies in Dhaka give you one line, "web app er jonno 5 lakh lagbe", without ever opening the requirement document. That is not pricing. It is a guess. The web application development price in BD comes down to exactly three things. First, how many user roles the app has. Second, how many database entities those roles touch. Third, how custom the workflows between them are. Once I know those three numbers, the BDT figure becomes a calculation, not a feeling.
I run this as a one-person studio. That is why my floor sits at 50,000 BDT, not the 2 to 3 lakh minimum most Bangladeshi agencies quote. Around the 3,00,000 BDT mark, a web app stops being a standard build and becomes custom software. That means systems with many roles and payments through bKash or Nagad merchant accounts. It also means role-based access control, audit logs, exports and syncing with outside APIs. I am open about that line before you pay anything.

Every quote I send is itemised. It lists features, hours, deliverables, a hosting recommendation and the included month after launch. You see what you are buying. The 50/50 payment terms mean neither of us is exposed if the relationship does not work. You pay the advance to start and the balance on launch. If the design does not get your approval, you do not pay the second half. That is the design-approval guarantee, not a marketing line.

A single-admin tool and a three-role system with admin, staff and customer are very different builds. Each role adds its own screens, permissions and edge cases. That usually adds 15 to 30k BDT per extra role.
This is how many "things" your app stores, like users, orders, properties, tickets or products. Each one needs screens to add, view, edit and delete records, plus checks and links to other data. I count these up front, so the price is not a surprise.
Adding bKash, Nagad or a card gateway is real work. It covers merchant account setup, payment alerts (IPN), refund logic and matching payments to orders. Budget an extra 25 to 40k BDT on top of the base app if you need it.
Dashboards, CSV or Excel exports and scheduled reports sound simple, but they eat hours. If you need finance-grade reporting, I quote it as its own line item instead of hiding it.

The 50,000 BDT floor is real, but you should know what it covers before you ask. At that price, you get a single-role internal tool. Think of a job tracker for a small printing press in Mirpur or a booking dashboard for a freelance photographer. It could also be a basic admin panel to manage products that feed into an existing site.
It has one user type, one main database table, a login and the screens to manage records. It is hosted on a shared plan or basic VPS. There is no payment gateway, no SMS and no fancy reporting. For a lot of small Dhaka and Chattogram businesses, this is exactly the right scope. They overpay 2 to 3 times when an agency quotes the same brief at 1.5 lakh.
The middle tier, 90,000 to 1,50,000 BDT, is where most real web apps live. That means 2 to 3 user roles, 5 to 8 database entities, basic reporting and maybe one outside integration. It suits a small clinic's appointment system, a coaching centre's student portal, a property listing back office or a logistics company's internal dispatch tool.
Above 3,00,000 BDT, we are in custom software territory. That covers multi-tenant systems, payment gateways, audit-grade reporting, complex mobile-responsive dashboards and role hierarchies. On the discovery call, I will tell you which tier your idea falls into, and why. If your budget and scope do not match, I will say so. Either we cut features to fit, or you talk to a bigger team. The total stays the same. For smaller projects, I stick to 50/50 because it keeps both sides honest about the timeline.
