School Website Development in Dhaka

Most school websites in Dhaka were built in 2014, last updated in 2017, and still ask guardians to download a PDF to see a notice. Yours doesn't have to.

I build school websites for Dhaka principals and governing bodies who are tired of begging the IT teacher to upload a result PDF. Admission forms that actually submit, notices the office staff can post themselves, fees that route to your bKash merchant account, and a results page that doesn't crash on result day. Built by one senior developer (me), priced from 50,000 BDT, delivered in roughly three weeks.

Solo senior developer. 50% advance, 50% on launch. Design approval before a single line of code.

About RH Fardin

I build the school website, then teach your office how to run it

Every Dhaka school principal I have spoken to has the same problem. The website was built four or five years ago by a relative of a teacher or a one-time vendor in Mirpur, the admin password is lost, the contact form has been forwarding to a Yahoo address no one checks, and during admission season the home page still shows last year's deadline. That is the starting point I expect when you ring me.

I am RH Fardin, a Dhaka-based website designer and developer with around five years of full-time work behind me. I do this alone. There is no agency floor, no project manager passing your brief to a junior, no Bangalore back-office quietly rewriting your About page in broken English. You email me, I reply. You ring me, I pick up. The same person who sketches your home page writes the PHP that submits your admission form to the office inbox.

For Dhaka schools specifically I have learned that three pages decide everything: the Admission page during November-January, the Notice board year-round, and the Result page on the two or three days a year when every guardian in Uttara, Dhanmondi, Mohammadpur and Bashundhara loads it at the same time. I build those three pages to survive that traffic, on cheap shared hosting, on the cheap Android phones most guardians actually use.

I work on a 50% advance, 50% on launch basis. You approve the design in Figma before I touch any code, which means you are never in the trap of paying a final installment for something you do not like. Pricing starts at 50,000 BDT for a focused school site, with larger builds at 90,000 and 1,50,000 BDT, and fully custom systems from 3,00,000 BDT when you need things like online admission test handling, fee ledgers or a separate alumni portal.

What's included

What a proper Dhaka school website actually does

Not a brochure. A working tool for your office staff, your guardians and your admission committee. Here is what is built into every school website I develop in Dhaka.

01

Admission form that submits

Class-wise admission forms with file upload for birth certificate and photo, submitted straight to your admission email plus a CSV the office can open in Excel. No more guardians ringing to ask whether the form went through.

02

Notice board your office runs

A simple Bangla-English notice posting screen the office assistant can use from a browser, with optional PDF attachment. The home page picks up the latest five notices automatically, no developer needed.

03

Results page that survives result day

Roll-and-class lookup that pulls from a CSV you upload, designed to handle the spike when every guardian in Dhaka opens it at 10 a.m. Built so it works on a 2GB Walton or Symphony phone on a slow mobile network.

04

Fees via bKash and Nagad

Tuition and admission fee links routed to your school's bKash Merchant or Nagad Merchant account with the student ID captured against each payment, so reconciliation in the accounts office is a simple export, not a guessing game.

05

Bangla and English, properly

Proper Unicode Bangla typography (SolaimanLipi, Hind Siliguri, Noto), not images of text. Guardians can copy-paste, search engines can index, screen readers can read. English alongside without two separate sites to maintain.

06

Built for the office assistant

I show your office staff how to post notices, upload results, update the teacher list and change admission dates, on a Zoom call in Bangla. A short PDF handover so the next person can pick it up when the current assistant transfers.

In focus

Why most school websites in Dhaka stop working within a year

It is almost always the same three failures. First, the site was built once and handed over with no training, so the moment the developer disappears nobody can post a notice or change the principal's photo. Second, fees and admission forms were tacked on with a free WordPress plugin that breaks the day PHP is updated by the hosting provider. Third, the developer used image-based notices and result PDFs that look fine on a desktop in the IT room but are unreadable on the cheap Android phones 80 percent of your guardians actually use, especially in areas like Mirpur, Demra, Jatrabari, Khilgaon and Savar where mobile data plans are tight.

I build for the opposite reality. The office assistant, not the developer, posts notices. The admission form is plain PHP submitting to email and CSV, with no fragile plugin chain. Everything is tested on a real budget phone over a 4G connection before I hand over. And I leave a one-page emergency contact sheet stuck to the inside of the admin login screen so when something does break in year two, you ring the right person, not the relative of a teacher who built it in 2019.

Frequently asked

Straight answers before we build.

Honest answers to the questions Dhaka principals, governing body members and head teachers actually ask me on the first call.

Koto taka? What does a school website in Dhaka actually cost?

From 50,000 BDT for a focused school site with home, about, admission form, notice board, results lookup, teachers, gallery and contact. Stepping up to 90,000 BDT adds bKash and Nagad fee payment, a Bangla notice posting panel and online admission with photo and birth certificate uploads. 1,50,000 BDT covers larger schools that need separate primary/secondary sections, alumni listing and event galleries. Anything truly custom, like an online admission test or a fee ledger system, starts at 3,00,000 BDT. Payment is 50% advance, 50% on launch.

How long does it take to build and launch the school's site?

About three weeks of working time end to end for the 50,000 BDT tier, assuming you give me content (teacher list, admission rules, prospectus PDF, photos) on time. Two-three days for the design draft in Figma, your committee reviews and approves it, then about two weeks of build and testing, then launch. If you need it live before a specific admission deadline, tell me on the first call and I will tell you honestly whether the date is realistic.

Can guardians pay tuition fees through bKash on the website?

Yes, on the 90,000 BDT tier and above. I integrate it with your school's existing bKash Merchant or Nagad Merchant account using their official payment gateway, with the student ID and class captured against every transaction so the accounts office can reconcile in Excel. The school must already have a registered Merchant account in the school's name. I do not collect money on your behalf, payments go straight to your account.

Will the result page handle the load on result day?

Yes, this is the failure I have heard most about from Dhaka principals. The results page is built as a simple roll-and-class lookup against a CSV you upload, served as a static page with the lookup running through a lightweight backend, deliberately designed to handle the few-hundred-guardians-per-minute spike on result day without taking the whole site down. I also test on a real budget Android phone over a 4G network before launch.

Can our office staff post notices themselves without ringing the developer?

Yes, that is the whole point. There is a simple Bangla-and-English notice posting screen the office assistant logs into from any browser. They type or paste the notice, attach a PDF if needed, set a date, hit publish. The home page picks it up automatically. I run a one-hour Zoom training in Bangla with whichever staff member will be responsible, and leave a short PDF guide for when that person transfers.

We are in Uttara/Dhanmondi/Mirpur. Do you meet in person or only over Zoom?

Both. I am based in Dhaka and I do meet principals and governing body members in person for the first conversation if it helps, particularly for larger schools or when the committee wants to discuss in a room together. For the actual design and development work, almost everything happens over WhatsApp, email and Zoom, which keeps the cost down and lets your committee review the Figma draft from wherever they are. Tell me on the first call which you prefer.
