The real problem with portfolios in BD
Your work might be unique. Your portfolio probably isn't.
Here is what actually happens when you apply for a creative role or pitch a client in Bangladesh. The person hiring opens six or seven portfolio links at once, in six or seven browser tabs, and scans them side by side in a couple of minutes. The brutal part is that most of those tabs look the same — same Framer template, same Notion-turned-site layout, same Carrd one-pager with the centered avatar and the three pastel project cards.
Your work behind it might be genuinely good, but if your portfolio design is indistinguishable from the other six, you are not being judged on talent. You are being judged on who blends in least, and you lose that round before anyone reads a word.
That is the gap this page is about, and it is specifically a design problem, not a development one. Anyone can spin up a free template in an afternoon. What that template can't do is make a deliberate choice — that your typography should feel architectural because you design buildings, or loud and editorial because you art-direct, or restrained and confident because you're a senior consultant who doesn't need to shout. Portfolio web design in BD usually skips this entirely. The result is thousands of technically-functional sites that all communicate the exact same thing: "I picked a theme."
I'm RH Fardin, and I work as one person on purpose. Close to five years designing and building sites in Bangladesh, and personal portfolios are the genre where design decisions matter most, because the whole point is to look like nobody else. I sit in Figma, I make the type and layout and motion choices myself, then I hand-code the result — and the person you message on WhatsApp at the start is the same person pushing the site live at the end. No brief gets lost in a handoff to a junior, because there is no handoff.
