Cost Breakdown

What an online store actually costs to build in Dhaka

The most common WhatsApp message I get from Dhaka business owners is a screenshot of a F-commerce page and the question: 'Eta proper website korte koto taka lagbe?' The honest answer is — it depends entirely on what your store has to do. A jewellery brand in Dhanmondi selling thirty SKUs needs a very different build than a grocery store in Mirpur running 800 SKUs with daily price changes and Pathao Parcel pickup zones. So instead of quoting a fake 'starting from' figure, I price by what is actually inside the store.

My online store development cost in Dhaka starts at a hard floor of 50,000 BDT. That floor is not a starter package designed to upsell you — it covers a complete small store: up to 30 products, bKash + Nagad personal/merchant integration, cash on delivery with order confirmation by phone, Pathao or Steadfast courier integration, basic order dashboard, mobile-first design, SSL, and a working checkout I have personally tested with real 1 taka transactions before handover.

Costs go up for specific, predictable reasons — more SKUs with variants (size, colour, pack), multiple courier zones with different shipping rules, automated SMS, abandoned cart recovery, vendor logins, accounting export to Tally or your accountant's Excel, English+Bangla bilingual setup, or a heavy product catalogue imported from an existing Facebook page. Each of these is a line item, not a hidden charge. The 90,000 and 1,50,000 BDT tiers cover most Dhaka SME stores I build. Anything genuinely custom — multi-warehouse, ERP sync, marketplace-style multi-vendor — starts at 3,00,000 BDT.

Payment terms are simple and the same for every Dhaka client: 50% advance to start, 50% on launch day after you have signed off on the design and tested the checkout yourself. You own the code, the hosting account, the domain, the bKash merchant credentials. There is no monthly platform fee going to me, and no 'we host it for you' lock-in dressed up as a feature.

What's included

What the price actually buys you

Six things every online store I build in Dhaka includes at the 50,000 BDT floor — no upgrade required, no asterisk.

01

bKash + Nagad live

Personal and merchant API integration, with order ID auto-passed in the reference field so you can reconcile payments without manual matching. Tested with real transactions before handover.

02

Cash on delivery built right

Order confirmation call workflow, fake-order filter (Bangladeshi mobile numbers verified by length and prefix), and a 'COD blocked districts' list you can edit yourself. No more 30% return rate from junk orders.

03

Pathao or Steadfast

Courier API integration so you generate parcels and consignment numbers from your admin panel — not by copy-pasting addresses into Pathao Merchant one by one at 11pm.

04

Mobile-first, Dhaka-3G safe

Tested on a real 250 BDT smartphone over Banglalink 3G in Mirpur, not just on a fast laptop. Your store loads under 4 seconds even when the network is being itself.

05

Bangla-safe typography

Proper Bangla web fonts that do not break ও, ঃ or যুক্তবর্ণ — and product names that mix Bangla and English without the layout shifting on phones.

06

Admin you can actually use

A dashboard your manager can run without me — add products from a phone, change prices in bulk, mark orders shipped, download a daily sales CSV. A 30-minute screen-recorded walkthrough in Bangla included.

In focus

What actually drives online store cost up in Dhaka

Most quotes you see in Dhaka are deliberately vague because the agency wants room to upcharge later. Here is what genuinely moves the price: product count and variants (50 products is a different build than 500 with size/colour combinations), the number of courier partners and their COD reconciliation rules, whether you need automated SMS via Bulk SMS BD or just email, whether your wholesale and retail prices differ for logged-in B2B buyers, and whether you sell in Bangla, English, or both.

A 50,000 BDT store with 20 SKUs takes me about two weeks. A 90,000 BDT store with 150 SKUs, abandoned-cart emails and a Facebook Catalog feed takes about four. A 1,50,000 BDT store with multi-vendor logins, vendor commissions, and Sheba.xyz-style service categories takes six to eight.

What does NOT cost extra: SSL, mobile optimisation, basic on-page SEO, sitemap, schema markup for products, Google Search Console setup, a contact form that emails you on the same domain, and the ability to edit your own products without paying me 5,000 BDT per change. If a Dhaka agency is charging you 25,000 BDT for an SSL certificate or 15,000 BDT to 'enable WhatsApp button' — they are billing for ten-minute jobs at consultant rates. Walk away. The honest floor for a real, working ecommerce site in Bangladesh today is 50,000 BDT, and the honest ceiling for most SMEs is 1,50,000 BDT.

Frequently asked

Straight answers before we build.

Real cost questions Dhaka business owners ask before they hit the bKash advance button.

Online store banate Dhaka te koto taka lage?

Honest floor is 50,000 BDT — that gets you a working store with bKash, Nagad, cash on delivery, Pathao integration, up to 30 products and a mobile-first design tested on Dhaka 3G. Most SME stores in Dhaka end up at 90,000 or 1,50,000 BDT depending on product count and features. Anything fully custom (multi-vendor, ERP sync) starts at 3,00,000 BDT.

Why is the floor 50,000 BDT and not 15,000 BDT like some Facebook ads claim?

Because at 15,000 BDT nobody can build, test and launch a working online store with real payment integration, courier API and a phone-fast frontend — they are selling you a Bootstrap template with broken bKash buttons. I have rebuilt at least a dozen of those for Dhaka clients in the last two years. You pay twice. The 50,000 BDT floor covers actual work done by one experienced person, not a template handover.

What is the difference between the 50,000, 90,000 and 1,50,000 BDT tiers?

50,000 BDT: up to 30 products, bKash + Nagad + COD + one courier, basic admin, mobile-first. 90,000 BDT: up to 150 products with variants, two couriers, abandoned cart, SMS confirmations, Google Merchant + Facebook Catalog feed, bilingual ready. 1,50,000 BDT: 500+ products, full bilingual Bangla/English, customer accounts with order history, B2B wholesale pricing tier, automated review requests, deeper analytics. All three include hosting handover, training and post-launch support.

Are bKash and Nagad integration costs included in the price?

Yes. Both personal and merchant API integration are included at every tier. You will pay bKash and Nagad their own merchant onboarding fees directly to them — that money does not come to me. If you do not have a merchant account yet, I will walk you through the document process (trade licence, NID, bank account) but the account stays in your name.

What ongoing costs should I budget for after the store launches?

Realistic monthly running cost in Dhaka: hosting around 600-1,500 BDT (depends on traffic), domain 1,200 BDT per year, SSL free via Let's Encrypt, bKash/Nagad transaction fees per their merchant agreement (~1.5-2%), Pathao courier per parcel as per their rate card, and Bulk SMS BD around 0.25 BDT per message if you use SMS. No platform fee to me. Optional retainer for maintenance is 5,000-15,000 BDT per month if you want me to handle updates, backups and minor changes.

Can I pay in installments instead of 50% advance?

The standard is 50% advance, 50% on launch — same for everyone, no exceptions for first projects. For the 1,50,000 BDT tier and above I will split it 40% advance, 30% on design approval, 30% on launch. I do not start work without the advance because I have been burned by 'I will pay you when I get my first sale' three times too many. Advance is via bKash, Nagad, or bank transfer — whatever is easiest for you.
