Why design is the booking problem
Your hotel is nicer than your website. In Dhaka, that costs you the booking.
Here is the uncomfortable thing I tell most Dhaka hotel owners on the first call. The problem is rarely the property. You have spent real money on the lobby, the rooms, the breakfast spread, the staff who actually smile. The problem is that a guest deciding between you and Booking.com never sees any of that, because the first thing they meet is a website that looks cheaper, slower, and less trustworthy than the OTA tab sitting right next to it.
When the design undersells the room, the guest assumes the room is oversold, and they book on Agoda where at least the photos look professional. Hotel web design in Dhaka is, before anything else, a trust problem you solve with the first scroll.
I am RH Fardin, a website designer and developer based in Bangladesh, and I look at a hotel site the way your guest does: on a six-inch phone, in three seconds, deciding whether you are worth the click. That decision is almost never about features.
It is about whether the hero photo looks like a real room or a stock library, whether the rate is shown plainly or hidden behind a 'request a quote' form, whether the typography and spacing feel like a 7,000-taka room or a 2,000-taka one, and whether the Book Now button looks like it actually leads somewhere. Most Dhaka hotel sites fail every one of those tests, and the OTAs quietly collect the commission for it.
So the design work is deliberate, not decorative.
I build the homepage around the question the guest is actually asking, which is 'can I trust this place and book it right now,' and I answer it in order: a real photograph of your property, the next available date and the BDT rate with nothing hidden, the three or four things that make you the right choice for a Gulshan corporate trip or a family stopover near the airport, and a deposit flow through bKash or Nagad that does not break on an Android.
Then I make it load in under two seconds on the mid-range phone and patchy 4G most of your guests are actually on, because a beautiful page that arrives late has already lost to the OTA that arrived on time.
I work solo and I do not subcontract. The person you brief is the person who designs the layout, directs the photography, writes the room copy, builds the front end, wires the bKash deposit, and ships it live. No account manager softening your feedback, no junior treating your hotel as a portfolio piece, no template recoloured from whoever paid last month. That single-operator setup is exactly how I keep hotel website design in Dhaka honest at a 50,000 BDT floor and still hand you something that finally looks as expensive as the room you are renting.
