A website mostly shows information, like services, about and blog pages. A web app has users who log in and do work. They place orders, assign jobs, approve leave or view a dashboard of their own data. Does your project need logins, roles, a database that updates daily, and reports? Then you need a web app developer, not a website designer. I do both, but I price and scope them very differently.
