What 'digital marketing' should actually buy a Chattogram business
Ask ten owners in this city what they pay for digital marketing and most will describe the same thing: someone boosts a few Facebook posts every month, sends a screenshot of 'reach' and 'engagement', and the money quietly disappears. That is not digital marketing — that is a subscription to vanity numbers.
Real digital marketing in Chattogram is a chain: the right people see you (search and social), they land somewhere fast and convincing (a page that loads on a mid-range Android in Agrabad traffic), they take an action you can count (a call, a WhatsApp message, a bKash or Nagad order), and you can see exactly which channel produced each taka. Break any link in that chain and you are pouring budget into a bucket with a hole in it.
Most of this city is paying for the first link and ignoring the other three.
I am RH Fardin, and I run this practice solo on purpose — every campaign, audit, ad set and conversion tag is mine to set up and watch. The first thing I do on most Chattogram accounts is not launch an ad; it is wire up honest tracking so we can both see what is happening. Purchase events from bKash, Nagad, Rocket and card gateways into GA4 and the Meta Pixel with deduplication, form fills counted, WhatsApp clicks and phone calls tracked.
Only once the measurement is real do we start spending, because spending before you can measure is just donating to Facebook and hoping. When the numbers are in front of both of us, the conversation changes from 'do you think it's working?' to 'cut this ad group, double the budget on that one'.
About five years in, I have learned the Chattogram buyer is not a Dhaka buyer with a different postcode. A trader off Khatunganj asks 'koto taka' in the first line of the first message and decides fast. A wholesale buyer wants to see you are real before he calls. An export-facing RMG or accessories supplier wants a credible, professional site, not a boosted carousel.
So the ad copy is price-first and direct, written in the Bangla-English mix people here actually thumb-type, and the landing pages are built lean enough to open on one bar of signal near the port or in GEC congestion. A page that stalls for nine seconds is a lead handed straight to a competitor, and no clever targeting saves you from that.
Running digital marketing solo also means I will tell you when not to spend. If your real problem is a broken or slow website, I will say so before you fund a single ad — there is no point buying traffic that lands on a leaking page. If Google Ads suits your trade better than Facebook, or if SEO is the patient three-to-six-month play your competitive niche actually needs, I will say that too.
I take a small number of Chattogram clients on purpose, because the measurement-first, hands-on way only works at low volume. If you want a logo on a 30-desk office and a glossy monthly PDF, I am the wrong call. If you want the person who wrote the proposal to be the same person reading your conversion data at 11pm, that is exactly this.
