How pricing really works here
Why two Khulna businesses get two very different software quotes
A printing press in Daulatpur asking for an order-tracking tool and a clinic near Khan Jahan Ali Road asking for patient records and appointment booking will never pay the same price - even if both call it "custom software." Software cost is driven by the number of screens, the rules behind them, who logs in, and what it has to connect to. When someone quotes you a single round number before asking any of that, they're either padding for safety or planning to cut corners. I don't do either.
Here's how I scope it. We talk through what the software has to do - the actual workflow, not a feature wishlist copied off a competitor. I map the screens, the user roles, the integrations (bKash or Nagad payments, SMS alerts, an existing Excel or accounts system), and the reporting you'll genuinely look at. That scope decides the tier. A focused internal tool sits near 50,000 BDT. Something with several roles, dashboards and payment handling lands around 90,000 to 1,50,000 BDT. A full platform with deeper logic and integrations starts at 3,00,000 BDT. The number follows the work - it isn't pulled from the air.
Payment is built to keep both of us honest: 50% advance to start, 50% on launch. You're never handing over the full amount upfront to someone you've just met online, and I'm not building for weeks on a promise. Before I write production code, you approve the design - that's the design-approval guarantee. If the look and flow aren't right, we fix it at the design stage, where changes are cheap, not after the system is half-built.
And you deal with me the whole way - not a sales rep who vanishes after the advance, not a project manager relaying messages to a team you'll never meet. When you message about a bug or a change six months from now, the person replying is the person who wrote the code. For a Khulna business owner who's been burned by a developer who went quiet, that single point of contact is usually worth more than shaving a few thousand taka off the quote.
