Web Development Price in Chittagong
Why two developers quote 12,000 and 90,000 for "the same website"
An Agrabad trading firm asked me last year why one developer wanted 12,000 taka and I wanted closer to 90,000 for what looked, on paper, like the same five-page site. Fair question. The honest answer is that they were not quoting the same thing at all - they were quoting the same screenshots. One of those prices buys a free theme with your logo dropped in and the demo content half-deleted. The other buys something built around your actual business, coded to load fast on a phone over patchy GEC-area data, and structured so Google can read it. "Web development" is two words doing a lot of hiding in this market.
The reason the web development price in Chittagong swings so wildly is that nobody is selling the same product. A teenager in a Facebook group, a small GEC office with three juniors, a Dhaka agency, and one senior developer who does the whole job are four different transactions wearing one job title. The cheap end wins on the first invoice and loses on everything after it - the rebuild eighteen months later, the plugin that breaks checkout during a festival rush, the SEO that was never there. You are not really choosing a price. You are choosing how many times you want to pay for this website.
Here is roughly where the money goes in a real build, because you deserve to see it. A chunk pays for the design itself - the layout, the way it reads on a small screen, the bit that makes a port-city importer trust you in four seconds. A chunk pays for the actual development - clean code, fast loading, forms that reach your inbox, payment and WhatsApp wired in properly, no pile of plugins fighting each other. A chunk pays for the SEO groundwork so the site is findable, not just pretty.
And a chunk pays for the simple fact that one experienced person is accountable for all of it, start to finish, instead of a chain of people pointing at each other.
I work as a single senior operator on purpose. When you message me about your site, you are messaging the person who designed it and wrote the code - not a sales rep who will forward you to a junior after the advance clears. That is why the floor sits at 50,000 BDT and not 10,000. It is not a markup. It is what it costs for the work to be done once, properly, by someone whose name is on it.
