Web designer working with Uttara businesses
Why Uttara owners stop chasing agencies and start working with one designer
Most Uttara businesses I meet have the same story. They paid a Mirpur or Mohakhali agency 30,000 to 80,000 BDT for a website, sat through three meetings with a sales person, then got handed off to a junior who copied a template, dropped in stock photos of foreign people, and disappeared. The site looks fine on a laptop and falls apart on the cheap Android phones their actual customers use. After six months the owner is locked out of hosting, can't edit a phone number, and is back on Facebook trying to sell from posts.
I am RH Fardin and I work differently because I am one person, not a chain of handoffs. When you message me about web design in Uttara, you are talking to the same person who will draw the wireframe, write the code, set up hosting, train you on edits, and answer your WhatsApp three months later when you want to add a new service. That is the whole pitch. No team, no juniors, no "our developer will get back to you."
Uttara is its own market. Buyers here are middle-class to upper-middle-class, mobile-first, comfortable paying through bKash or Nagad, and quick to abandon a site that looks like a 2014 template. They will check your Google listing, your Facebook page, and your website in the same minute. If the website looks slower or weaker than the Facebook page, they bounce to your competitor in Sector 3. The design has to load fast on 4G, look right on a 6-inch screen first, and answer the "koto taka?" question before they have to ask.
I have been doing this for about five years across Bangladesh, with a strong concentration of Dhaka clients including Uttara, Banani and Bashundhara. Every project starts at 50,000 BDT because below that I cannot do work I am willing to put my name on. Fifty per cent advance to start, fifty per cent on launch, and you only approve the final design when you actually like it.
