Small business owners in Dhaka keep asking about the domain and hosting price in BD. "Domain and hosting koto taka?" they ask, and they get five different answers. There is a reason. Some local providers quote 999 BDT for the first year, then quietly renew at 3,500 BDT. Others bundle a free domain that you cannot transfer out.
A few resell shared hosting from a cPanel reseller in Lahore. Then they disappear when the server goes down at 2 AM. So the headline price is rarely what you actually pay over three years.

You see both prices on the same line before paying. A .com is about 1,200 BDT a year. A .com.bd is about 1,800 BDT a year, for two years via BTCL. Renewals match the first year, with no 3x jump in year two.
Brochure sites, ecommerce stores and WooCommerce shops have very different hosting needs. I recommend the right plan from Namecheap, Hostinger, Cloudflare Pages or a BD host like Exonhost. I don't push whichever one pays me the biggest affiliate commission.
Your domain and hosting are registered in your name, with your email and your payment method on file. If you ever stop working with me, you keep full control. No "agency-locked" accounts hold your site hostage.

The biggest mistake I see Bangladeshi owners make is treating domain and hosting as one product where cheapest wins. They are two separate things with very different price logic. ICANN, Verisign or BTCL set the domain price for yourbusiness.com or yourbusiness.com.bd. The registrar adds a small markup. So the real floor for a .com is about 1,000 to 1,400 BDT per year.
Anyone selling it for 200 BDT is using it as a loss leader and will jack up the renewal. Or they are bundling it with hosting you cannot leave. The .com.bd is different. BTCL charges about 1,800 BDT for a two-year minimum, and the process involves manual paperwork. That's why providers add a 500 to 1,000 BDT handling fee on top.
Hosting price is where the real choices happen. Shared hosting from a reseller costs 2,000 to 5,000 BDT a year. It's fine for a brochure site with under 5,000 monthly visitors. Managed WordPress or VPS hosting runs 8,000 to 25,000 BDT a year. A serious ecommerce store with bKash/Nagad checkout and 50+ orders a day needs that. Cloud setups on Cloudflare Pages or Vercel can cost near zero for static sites, but they need a developer to maintain them.
Here's the trap most BD clients fall into. They buy 1,500 BDT shared hosting for a WooCommerce store. It slows to a crawl at 8 PM when traffic peaks. Six months later, they pay twice to move to proper hosting. I size the hosting to your actual business model upfront, so you pay once and pay right.

No. If you already have domain and hosting somewhere, I can build on top of it, as long as the hosting is strong enough. If your current hosting is too cheap to run your site, I will tell you honestly and recommend a move. Web design starts at 50,000 BDT either way.
Yes, for BD-registered providers and for my setup fee. International registrars like Namecheap and Cloudflare need a Visa or Mastercard. Most BD banks now issue these for free. If you don't have a card, I can register the domain for you. You pay me back via bKash, and I transfer full ownership to you.
Buy the .com if your customers will find you by typing or Googling. Buy .com.bd if you want to signal "Bangladeshi business" and your customers are 100% local. Think government suppliers, BD-only services and regulated industries. Most retail and ecommerce clients do best owning both. Use the .com as primary and the .com.bd as a redirect, for a total of about 3,000 BDT per year.
