There is a reason small business owners in Dhaka keep asking, "domain and hosting koto taka?" and getting five different answers. Some local providers quote 999 BDT for the first year, then quietly renew at 3,500 BDT. Others bundle a free domain that you cannot transfer out. A few resell shared hosting from a cPanel reseller in Lahore and disappear when the server goes down at 2 AM. The headline price is rarely the price you actually pay over three years.

You see both prices on the same line before paying. A .com is around 1,200 BDT/year, .com.bd is around 1,800 BDT/year for two years via BTCL, and renewals match the first year (no 3x jump in year two).
Brochure sites, ecommerce stores, and WooCommerce shops have very different hosting needs. I recommend the right plan from Namecheap, Hostinger, Cloudflare Pages, or a BD host like Exonhost, instead of pushing whichever pays me the biggest affiliate commission.

The biggest mistake I see Bangladeshi business owners make is treating domain and hosting as one combined product where cheapest wins. They are two completely separate things with very different price logic. The domain (yourbusiness.com or yourbusiness.com.bd) is set by ICANN, Verisign, or BTCL, plus a small registrar markup, so the real floor for a .com is around 1,000-1,400 BDT per year.
Anyone selling it for 200 BDT is either using it as a loss leader (and will jack up the renewal) or bundling it with hosting you cannot leave. .com.bd is different: BTCL charges around 1,800 BDT for a two-year minimum and the process involves manual paperwork, which is why providers add a 500-1,000 BDT handling fee on top.
Hosting price is where the real choices happen. Shared hosting from a reseller costs 2,000-5,000 BDT a year and is fine for a brochure site with under 5,000 monthly visitors. Managed WordPress or VPS hosting runs 8,000-25,000 BDT a year and is what a serious ecommerce store with bKash/Nagad checkout and 50+ orders a day actually needs. Cloud setups on Cloudflare Pages or Vercel can be near-zero for static sites but require a developer to maintain.
The trap most BD clients fall into is buying 1,500 BDT shared hosting for a WooCommerce store, watching it slow to a crawl at 8 PM when traffic peaks, then paying twice to migrate to proper hosting six months later. I size the hosting to your actual business model upfront, so you pay once and pay right.

No. If you already have domain and hosting somewhere, I can build on top of it as long as the hosting is capable enough. If your current hosting is too cheap to run your site, I will tell you honestly and recommend a migration. Web design starts at 50,000 BDT either way.
Yes for the BD-registered providers and for my setup fee. International registrars like Namecheap and Cloudflare need a Visa or Mastercard, which most BD banks now issue for free. If you do not have a card, I can register the domain on your behalf and you reimburse me via bKash, with full transfer of ownership.
Buy the .com if your customers will search by typing or Googling. Buy .com.bd if you specifically want to signal "Bangladeshi business" and your customers are 100% local (government suppliers, BD-only services, regulated industries). Most retail and ecommerce clients are best off owning both: .com as primary and .com.bd as a redirect, total cost around 3,000 BDT per year.
