Before launch I map every existing URL, set up 301 redirects for anything that changes, preserve title tags and meta descriptions for ranking pages, and verify in Google Search Console after go-live. The 'redesign killed my SEO' horror story almost always comes from teams that did not plan the redirects or rewrote URLs without mapping them. I plan them.
