Website Design and Development in Dhaka

One person designs your site. The same person codes it. The same person ships it.

Most Dhaka studios split design and development across three or four hands, and the brief gets lost between them. I run both ends myself, so what we agree on in Figma is what goes live on the domain — no junior re-interpreting the design at midnight, no "the developer didn't understand" excuses on launch day.

~5 years building sites for Dhaka businesses. From 50,000 BDT. 50% advance via bKash, Nagad or bank — 50% on launch.

About this engagement

Why combining design and development under one person changes the outcome

The single biggest waste I see in Dhaka web projects is the handoff. A designer in Banani draws something beautiful in Figma. A developer in Mirpur builds something functional in WordPress. Six weeks later they meet in the middle and nothing aligns — fonts shift, spacing breaks, the mobile menu does something the designer never imagined. The client pays for the gap. I removed the gap by doing both jobs.

What that means in practice: when I'm sketching the homepage layout for your Dhaka business, I'm already thinking about how the hero section will load on a 3G connection in Savar, how the contact form will fire to your email and to a WhatsApp number, how the blog template will hold up when you add 40 posts over two years. Design decisions and code decisions get made together, not in two separate rooms.

I've been doing this for about five years now, mostly for small and mid-sized businesses across Dhaka — Gulshan agencies, Mohakhali clinics, Tejgaon manufacturers, Old Dhaka traders. The work spans static brochure sites, WordPress builds, WooCommerce stores, and the occasional custom Next.js front-end. I write the copy hierarchy, design the wireframes, finish the visual design, write the code, set up hosting, and hand you a working site with a 30-day support window.

I'm not a team. I'm not pretending to be one. If you want the comfort of an org chart and a project manager who replies in 11 hours, hire an agency. If you want one senior person who picks up your call, understands the brief the first time, and ships what was promised — that's what this is.

What's included

What you actually get when design and development sit with one person

Six things that change when the brief doesn't have to survive a handoff between two teams.

01

Single brief

You explain your business to one person, once. No re-briefing a developer two weeks later who reads the Figma differently than I drew it.

02

Design that ships intact

What you approve in the design review is what the browser renders. Spacing, type scale, hover states, mobile breakpoints — I built the design, I write the CSS, nothing gets quietly "adjusted" during build.

03

Faster turnaround

Standard 5-7 page sites land in 3-4 weeks from advance payment because there's no internal queue, no ticket sitting in a developer's backlog, no "waiting on the designer" loop.

04

Mobile-first by default

Roughly 80% of your Dhaka visitors will land on a phone. I design the mobile layout first and the desktop is the upgrade — not the other way around like most studios do it.

05

Real Bangla support

If you need Bangla typography, Bangla forms, or a bilingual site, the fonts, line-height and form validation get tested properly — not bolted on at the end and left looking broken.

06

One contact after launch

Plugin breaks at 9 PM? Domain not renewing? Form stopped sending? Same WhatsApp number, same person, no ticket system asking you to describe the issue to a stranger.

In focus

The honest scope question: what do you actually need built in Dhaka right now?

When someone in Dhaka searches for "website design and development" they usually mean one of three different things, and the prices live in three different brackets. A small service business — a dental clinic in Dhanmondi, an interior firm in Bashundhara, a coaching centre in Mohakhali — usually needs a 5-7 page brochure site with a contact form and a WhatsApp button. That lands in the 50,000-90,000 BDT range.

A growing business that needs a blog, a careers page, a downloadable brochure, a multi-service architecture and a small CMS is the 1,50,000 BDT tier. Custom work — bilingual sites with dynamic content, integrations with your CRM, booking systems, multi-language SEO architecture — starts at 3,00,000 BDT and gets quoted properly after a scope call.

What I won't do is sell you the 1,50,000 BDT package when 50,000 BDT will do the job, or pretend a 50,000 BDT brochure site will replace a custom-built portal. On the first call I ask what visitors are supposed to do on the site (call, fill a form, place an order, download something, read a blog), how you currently get business, and what "working" looks like 6 months after launch. The scope falls out of those three answers — not out of a template price list.

Payment is 50% advance via bKash, Nagad or bank transfer to lock the slot, and 50% on launch day after you approve the live site. The design-approval guarantee means we don't move to the code build until you've signed off the Figma in writing, so nothing about the visual gets a surprise revision after development starts.

Frequently asked

Straight answers before we build.

The six things most Dhaka business owners ask me before signing.

Website design and development er total koto taka lagbe in Dhaka?

The floor is 50,000 BDT for a standard 5-7 page business site (design + development + basic on-page SEO + launch). The mid tier is 90,000 BDT for ~10 pages with a blog and stronger SEO setup. 1,50,000 BDT is the standard "full" build — more pages, multi-service architecture, careers/news section, CMS training. Custom builds (bilingual, integrations, portals, dynamic catalogues) start from 3,00,000 BDT and need a scope call. Payment is 50% advance, 50% on launch — bKash, Nagad or bank transfer all work.

Why hire one person for both design and development instead of an agency?

Because the most expensive mistakes on Dhaka web projects happen in the handoff between the design team and the dev team — not in either job individually. With one senior person doing both, the brief doesn't get re-interpreted, the design doesn't get "approximated" in code, and you have one number to call when something breaks. Agencies make sense for very large or very long projects; for a typical Dhaka business site, the math doesn't favour them.

How long does the full design and development process take?

A standard 50,000-90,000 BDT site takes 3-4 weeks from advance payment: 3-5 days for content and structure planning, 7-10 days for design (including one major revision round), 7-10 days for development and content load, 2-3 days for testing on real Bangladeshi mobile networks, then launch. The 1,50,000 BDT tier is usually 5-6 weeks. Custom builds get a written timeline after the scope call.

Do I get to approve the design before you start coding?

Yes — and the contract makes it explicit. We don't move from Figma into WordPress / Next.js / whatever the stack is until you've signed off the design in writing. That's the design-approval guarantee. If the design needs another revision round, we do it before any code gets written, because re-doing development work is what makes projects bleed time and money.

Will the site work properly on slow mobile internet outside central Dhaka?

Yes — I design and test for it. Images are compressed and lazy-loaded, the homepage is built to be under ~150KB of critical assets, fonts are subset, and the layout is tested on a throttled 3G connection (not just my office Wi-Fi). A buyer in Savar, Narayanganj or Tongi gets the same usable site as a buyer in Banani.

What happens after launch — do I have to pay you a monthly retainer?

No. Every package includes 30 days of post-launch support (bug fixes, small tweaks, training you on the CMS) at no extra cost. After that, you can either manage it yourself with the documentation I leave you, hire a junior to do edits, or keep me on call as needed — paid per task or via a small monthly care plan. I don't lock anyone into retainers, and the site, the domain, the hosting and the source files are 100% yours from day one.
