Website design and development cost in Dhaka varies wildly for one reason. It is not magic, and it is not 'package' marketing. It is scope. A 5-page brochure site for a Banani consulting firm is not the same product as a 40-page corporate site. That bigger site might have a careers portal, a Bangla-English toggle and a multi-step inquiry funnel.
Both are valid, and both have a real price. That price depends on four things. How many screens get designed. How many features get built. How much content I need to write. And how many rounds of changes you want before launch.
Say you call an agency in Dhaka about the 50,000 BDT 'starter package' from a Facebook ad. It usually means a recycled WordPress template, a stock-photo hero, three pages and a junior intern doing the setup. Then you ask for what you really need. That could be bKash and Nagad payment links or an inquiry form that goes to your WhatsApp. It could be custom images of your office or product, or a real about page in Bangla.
Suddenly the quote becomes 1,80,000 BDT and the timeline doubles. I cut that loop by publishing the real tiers up front.
I work solo, so the cost you pay is the cost of senior work. It is not a markup that funds a sales team, three project managers and an office in Gulshan. I have about five years of building sites for Bangladeshi businesses. I know which corners save you money safely. For example, use proven hosting on Hostinger or Cloudflare instead of a custom server. Use a well-tested WordPress stack instead of a hand-built framework for a 6-page site.
I also know which corners will quietly cost you more later. Those include skipping a proper sitemap, leaving out schema and analytics, and a logo made in MS Word.
Every project I take is 50% advance and 50% on launch. There are no hidden retainers and no upsells mid-build. Hosting, domain and any premium plugin licences are listed separately, so you see them clearly. The price you agree on at the start is the price you pay at the end. If you don't approve the homepage design, you don't pay the second half. That is the design approval guarantee, and it is in writing on every quote I send.
Here are six things to weigh before you sign any quote for website design and development in Dhaka.
A clean, mobile-first site of 4 to 6 pages for a small business in Dhaka. You get a homepage, about, services and contact page, plus one or two extras. It includes basic SEO, WhatsApp click-to-chat, a Google Maps embed and a contact form that emails you directly.
The middle tier has 8 to 12 pages with custom drawings or photo treatment and a blog. It adds full on-page SEO, schema markup, Google Analytics and Search Console setup. You also get a Bangla-English language toggle if your buyers want it.
A corporate-grade build for a serious Dhaka brand, with 15 to 25 pages and a custom design system. It includes a careers page, case study templates and advanced inquiry forms with CRM routing. You also get a 30-day support window after launch.
This is for when the spec is bigger than a website. Think multi-vendor ecommerce, a booking system, a member portal, custom dashboards or a Bangla-first product. One senior operator scopes, quotes and builds it from start to finish.
You pay 50% in advance and 50% on launch. That is the entire payment plan. Hosting, domain, premium plugin licences and stock images are listed on the quote at cost. No 'project management fee' is added at the end.
If you don't approve the homepage design after the agreed rounds of changes, the project pauses. You do not pay the launch bill. You are never locked into paying for a site you don't actually like.
The number of pages is the first lever, but not the biggest. The biggest is whether the design is templated or custom. A WordPress theme tuned to your brand colours and fonts is one scope. A Figma design built from scratch around your product photos is another. The second can easily double the design hours.
The second lever is features. A contact form is free. But a booking calendar, a multi-step quote builder, a course portal or a bKash and Nagad payment link each add real engineering hours. The third lever is content. If you give me copy and photos, you save lakhs of taka. If I need to interview you, write the copy in plain English and Bangla, and shoot product photos, that becomes a separate line on the quote.
Two things are almost always cheaper than Dhaka buyers expect: hosting and upkeep. A small business site runs well on a Hostinger or Cloudflare Pages plan at 5,000 to 8,000 BDT a year. You do not need the 50,000 BDT a year 'managed VPS' an agency might push. Upkeep for a 10-page site is about 2,000 to 4,000 BDT a month. That covers updates, backups and a real human to call when something breaks.
Two things almost always cost more than buyers expect. The first is real photos of your office, products and team. A half-day shoot in Dhaka costs 15,000 to 25,000 BDT, and it is worth every taka. The second is proper copywriting in both languages. I tell every client the same thing: pay for photos and words before you pay for animations.

Here are real answers to what Dhaka business owners ask me before they sign.
The floor is 50,000 BDT for a clean, mobile-first site of 4 to 6 pages. Most small businesses in Dhaka land at 90,000 BDT. That buys a fuller build of 8 to 12 pages with SEO and analytics set up. Corporate-grade projects sit at 1,50,000 BDT. Anything bigger, like multi-vendor stores, portals or booking systems, starts at 3,00,000 BDT and gets a custom quote.
There are two reasons. First, agencies pay for a sales team, account managers and an office, and that overhead lands on your bill. Second, the cheap 'starter' quote usually leaves out what you really need. That means payment links, real photos, Bangla content and SEO setup. By the time those get added back, the quote grows fast. I publish the real tiers up front, so there is nothing to add back later.
Standard terms are 50% in advance to begin and 50% on launch. That protects both of us. For custom builds of 3,00,000+ BDT, I can split the second half into two milestones. For example, you pay 50% in advance, 25% on staging signoff and 25% on launch. You can pay to my bKash, Nagad or bank account, whichever you choose.
A few things are not included. Domain registration costs about 1,200 BDT a year for a .com. Hosting costs 5,000 to 8,000 BDT a year for a small site. Any paid plugin or theme licences you want, paid stock photos, and upkeep after the first 30 days are also extra. All of these are listed on the quote at their real cost, with no hidden markup.
Adding a proper Bangla version costs about 15,000 to 25,000 BDT on a 90,000 BDT site, based on page count. It means a second design pass and a second round of copy. If you supply the Bangla copy yourself, it costs much less. Most of the cost is in writing and typesetting the Bangla, not in the technical toggle.
The 50,000 BDT tier takes 2 to 3 weeks. The 90,000 BDT tier takes 3 to 5 weeks, and the 1,50,000 BDT tier takes 5 to 8 weeks. You might need a hard rush for an event, a launch or a board meeting. Then I add a 15 to 20% rush fee, because I have to push other projects back. I only accept a rush if I can honestly hit the date without cutting quality.
