Yes. WooCommerce on WordPress is my default for most Dhaka stores under a few thousand SKUs. Hosting is cheap, the ecosystem is huge and the BD payment plugins are mature. Shopify is the right call when you want zero server headaches and your margins justify the monthly fee. Custom Laravel or Next.js stacks make sense from the 3,00,000 BDT custom tier up. They usually suit marketplaces, B2B portals or stores with unusual logic.
Yes, with live merchant accounts and proper IPN checks, not placeholder plugins. If you have not done the bKash and Nagad merchant signup paperwork yet, I will guide you through it. That is usually the slowest part. SSLCommerz and Shurjopay are aggregator options. They suit you if you want one contract for cards, mobile banking and net banking, with less paperwork up front.
Every COD store in Dhaka deals with fake orders. I build in OTP checks on phone numbers and a blacklist for repeat fakers. I add area-based COD limits too. For example, Uttara and Dhanmondi might have no limit, while some outer zones need a partial advance. Where available, I also connect courier fraud-check databases. This does not end fake orders, but it cuts them a lot.
