What ecommerce really costs in Dhaka
The price tag on a Dhaka online store, broken down honestly
Every week someone messages me on WhatsApp and starts with one sentence: "bhai, ekta ecommerce site banate koto taka lagbe?" — and the answer they get from most places is either suspiciously cheap (15,000 BDT, no payment gateway, no real product structure) or absurdly inflated (8 lakh for a Shopify install with a stock theme). Neither matches what Dhaka sellers actually need to start taking orders. This page exists to give you the real numbers.
I am RH Fardin, a solo website designer and developer with about five years of building sites for businesses across Dhaka — from Dhanmondi boutiques to Mirpur electronics resellers to Gulshan-based F-commerce pages graduating into a proper website. I design and code every store personally. No junior handover, no "project manager" middleman inflating your invoice. When you pay me for an ecommerce build, you are paying for the hours I spend on your store — not an office overhead in Banani.
An ecommerce site in Dhaka costs more than a brochure site because there is real plumbing involved: bKash Personal vs. Merchant integration, Nagad payment, SSLCOMMERZ gateway setup, cash-on-delivery with proper order verification (Dhaka cancellation rates are brutal if you skip the OTP call step), Pathao or RedX delivery zones with different charges for inside-Dhaka and outside-Dhaka, a product catalogue that supports Bangla and English fields, and an order dashboard your team can run from a phone in the shop.
My pricing floor for any project is 50,000 BDT. For ecommerce specifically, that floor gets you a starter store — small catalogue, manual order flow, one payment gateway. A serious Dhaka online store with multiple gateways, full delivery integration, customer accounts, and a clean admin panel sits in the 90,000 to 1,50,000 BDT range. Custom ecommerce platforms with inventory sync, vendor logins, or POS connections start from 3,00,000 BDT. Everything is 50% advance and 50% on launch — and you do not pay the final 50% until you have personally approved the design.
