Ecommerce Website Development in Bangladesh

Ecommerce website development in Bangladesh, by one senior builder who actually ships

If you've outgrown selling on a Facebook page and you're tired of chasing 'koto taka?' inbox messages, I build proper online stores in Bangladesh: bKash, Nagad and COD checkout, courier-ready dispatch, fast on mid-range Androids. From 50,000 BDT, 50% advance to start.

Around 5 years of solo work, every store designed and coded by me, no agency layer, no junior shadow developer. You approve the design before the final 50% is due.

Ecommerce website development in Bangladesh

When your Facebook page hits its ceiling, a real store is the next move

Every week a Bangladeshi seller messages me with some version of the same story: business started on a Facebook page, orders came in through inbox, packing was done from the bedroom, and now it's eaten the whole day. They're answering 'price ki?', 'eta ache?', and 'delivery koto?' on five different chats while trying to track which courier picked up what. The page is doing 80-100 orders a month and it cannot get past that without breaking. That's the exact moment ecommerce website development in Bangladesh actually pays back: when the chat work becomes the bottleneck and a proper store can take orders without you typing the same answer for the hundredth time.

The stores I build are made for that transition. Products listed once with the price visible, so the impatient buyer stops asking and just adds to cart. bKash and Nagad checkout configured properly so the money lands in your account with a clean confirmation, not a 'pending' message you have to debug at midnight. Cash-on-delivery as a first-class option, because more than half your orders will be COD and pretending otherwise is how stores fail. Address and phone fields wired so Pathao, Steadfast or RedX pickup is a print-the-slip job, not a copy-paste hour every evening.

I work as one senior operator across the whole job, because that's how solo sellers and small ecommerce teams actually want it. You message one person, you get one answer, the design is built by the same hand that codes the cart, and nothing falls through the gap between an 'account manager' and a 'developer team' that doesn't really exist. Around 5 years of doing exactly this means I've seen the failure modes already, the slow product page, the broken bKash callback, the COD form that loses the customer's phone number, and I build around them from day one.

Pricing is plain so you can plan: starter stores from 50,000 BDT, common tiers at 90,000 and 1,50,000 BDT as catalogue and payment complexity grow, and custom builds from 3,00,000 BDT for sellers who need bespoke flows, inventory rules or wholesale logins. Terms are 50% advance to start and 50% on launch, with a design-approval guarantee so you sign off on what you see before the final taka moves. No 'maintenance package' surprises, no quietly inflated invoice at the end.

What's included

Why Bangladeshi sellers choose this kind of ecommerce build

Six things I bake into every store, because they are what decides whether your ecommerce website in Bangladesh takes orders or just looks nice.

01

F-commerce to ecommerce

Built for sellers stepping up from a Facebook page: product catalogue, order tracking and a checkout that handles the volume your inbox cannot. The store does the answering so you can do the packing.

02

bKash, Nagad + COD

All three set up and tested, not just listed as icons. The gateway callbacks work, the COD form captures clean addresses, and the order lands in admin ready to dispatch.

03

Mid-range Android first

Pages tuned for the phone your buyer is actually using on mobile data, not your laptop on office wifi. Compressed images, light code, product page that opens before they bounce.

04

Courier-ready dispatch

Order data structured to fit Pathao, Steadfast and RedX pickup sheets. Print, pack, hand over. No more retyping addresses from Facebook screenshots at 11pm.

05

SEO from day one

Clean URLs, product schema, fast load and proper meta data so Google can actually rank your store for the products you sell, not just for your brand name searches.

06

You own everything

Your domain, hosting, admin login and source code, all in your name. If you ever want to leave, you walk out with the keys. No agency lock-in, no monthly hostage situation.

In focus

What ecommerce development in Bangladesh actually involves beyond the product page

A lot of sellers think ecommerce website development is mostly about the design and the product listings. It is not. The visible part is maybe 30 percent of the work. The other 70 percent is the plumbing: a payment gateway integration with bKash or Nagad that handles the success, failure and timeout callbacks correctly so an order is not lost in limbo; a cash-on-delivery flow that captures the buyer's phone in a format your courier accepts; an admin panel where your team can mark orders packed, dispatched,

delivered or returned without breaking the database; stock that decrements when an order is placed so you do not oversell; an email or SMS confirmation that actually fires; and a backup so a single bad plugin update does not wipe a week of orders.

On top of that, a serious ecommerce build in Bangladesh has to think about post-launch reality. The product page has to load in under three seconds on a Banglalink connection, because Facebook-ad traffic does not wait. The store has to handle the Eid spike when traffic jumps five times overnight. Returns and refunds need a clear policy on the site, because buyers here will ask. Image optimisation has to be set up so adding a new product does not slow the whole store down.

SEO basics, clean URLs, product schema and a proper sitemap, need to be in place from launch so Google starts indexing on day one rather than month four. When all of that is built in from the start, you get a store that actually scales with your business. When it is bolted on later by whoever you find next, you get a mess and a rebuild bill.

Frequently asked

Straight answers before we build.

The questions sellers across Bangladesh ask me before they commission an ecommerce website, answered straight.

Ecommerce website development Bangladesh-te koto taka porbe?

Starter ecommerce begins at 50,000 BDT. The common tiers are 50,000, 90,000 and 1,50,000 BDT depending on how many products you have, whether you need bKash plus Nagad plus card or just one, and how custom the design is. Fully bespoke builds with wholesale logins, multi-vendor logic or custom inventory rules start from 3,00,000 BDT. Terms are 50% advance to begin and 50% on launch.

I'm currently selling on Facebook only. Is it worth moving to a proper website?

Once you're past 50-100 orders a month, yes, every time. The Facebook page is great for discovery and ads, but the inbox-based checkout is your ceiling. A real ecommerce site lets buyers self-serve at 2am, shows prices openly so you stop losing impatient customers to 'inbox for price' fatigue, and gives you order data you can actually count. You'll usually keep the Facebook page for traffic and run the website as the checkout.

Which platform do you build on, WooCommerce, Shopify, or custom?

I match the tool to your business. WooCommerce on WordPress works for most Bangladeshi sellers because it's flexible, supports local bKash and Nagad plugins, and you fully own it with no monthly fee. Shopify makes sense if you want zero technical headache and don't mind the subscription. Custom is for sellers with unusual flows like B2B wholesale or multi-warehouse stock. I'll recommend honestly based on your products and budget.

How is COD handled, and do you set up Pathao or Steadfast integration?

Cash-on-delivery is set up as a first-class checkout option with proper phone and address validation, so each order arrives complete and ready to ship. Pathao, Steadfast and RedX pickup integration is included where the platform supports it, so you can export order sheets or push orders into their merchant panels without retyping. If you use a different courier, I'll fit the order data to whatever format they accept.

I'm outside Dhaka, in Chattogram, Sylhet, Rajshahi or somewhere else. Can you still build my store?

Yes, I work with sellers across Bangladesh fully remotely. Everything runs over message, voice call and screen share. Payment is the standard 50% advance and 50% on launch via bank or bKash. The store I build will be tuned for buyers on mobile data anywhere in the country, not just for fast city wifi, so it works whether your customer is in Dhaka or in a district town.

What happens after launch if I need changes or something breaks?

Small fixes in the first weeks after launch are on me, that's part of shipping. Beyond that, you can hire me for ongoing support on an as-needed basis, no forced retainer. Because you fully own the site, source code and hosting, you can also hand it to any other developer later. The whole point is that you are not trapped in an agency relationship to keep your own store running.
