Ecommerce Website Design in Dhanmondi

An ecommerce website design in Dhanmondi that actually looks like your shop on Road 11 — not a Shopify demo with your logo pasted on top.

Most Dhanmondi boutiques, jewellery houses, cafes and lifestyle brands already sell through Facebook and Instagram DMs. The problem starts when a customer says 'apnar website ache?' — and the site you send them to feels nothing like the store they walked into on Satmasjid Road. I design and build ecommerce sites that match the polish of a Dhanmondi storefront, load fast on a 4G phone, and let buyers checkout with bKash, Nagad or card without a single follow-up message.

One senior designer-developer. No reseller chain. 5+ years shipping ecommerce sites for Bangladeshi brands. Starts at 50,000 BDT, 50% advance.

About the person building your store

Why a Dhanmondi brand should hire one senior operator instead of an agency

Walk into a Dhanmondi boutique on a Friday evening and you see what most local agencies never bother to translate online: warm lighting, curated racks, a sales girl who remembers your size, a price tag that quietly says this is not Bashundhara City. Your ecommerce site has to carry all of that. That is the part that gets lost when a 12-person agency hands your project to a junior designer who has never set foot in your shop.

I am RH Fardin and I run a one-person practice from Bangladesh. Every Dhanmondi ecommerce project I take on is designed, coded, content-loaded and launched by me personally. There is no account manager between you and the person writing the CSS, and no junior team learning on your budget. After roughly five years building sites for Bangladeshi retailers, I have a strong opinion on what should and should not be on a fashion or lifestyle product page in this market.

Most of my Dhanmondi clients come to me after one of three frustrations: a Daraz-style template that makes their premium brand look generic, a foreign freelancer who built something pretty but cannot integrate SSLCommerz or aamarPay, or a local agency that disappears the day after launch. I price honestly, work in writing, and stay reachable on WhatsApp after delivery so a broken bKash callback at 9pm on a Thursday does not cost you weekend sales.

I work to a written scope, a fixed quote, and a clear timeline. Fifty percent of the agreed fee is paid as advance, the remaining fifty percent is due only when you approve the design and we are ready to go live. If you do not approve the design direction at the mockup stage, we rework it — you do not pay the balance for work you do not like.

What's included

What you actually get with a Dhanmondi-grade ecommerce site

Six things I focus on because they decide whether a Dhanmondi shopper hits 'order now' or closes the tab and goes back to scrolling Instagram.

01

bKash, Nagad, card, COD

Integrated SSLCommerz or aamarPay so customers can pay with bKash, Nagad, Rocket, Visa, Mastercard or choose cash on delivery — all without leaving your site or chatting on Messenger to confirm.

02

Looks like your shop

The design references your actual store — your fabric photography, your interior tones, your typography — instead of a stock Shopify theme. Built so a regular customer recognises the brand instantly.

03

Fast on weak 4G

Optimised images, lazy-loading and a lean theme so your category pages open in under three seconds on a 4G phone in a Dhanmondi traffic jam — not just on a fibre connection in your office.

04

Dhaka delivery built in

Steadfast, Pathao, Sundarban or RedX courier flows preconfigured with proper inside/outside Dhaka pricing rules, so checkout shipping charges match what you actually pay.

05

Bangla product fields

Product titles, sizes and descriptions handled in both Bangla and English where it matters, so older customers and gifting buyers do not get stuck on an all-English checkout form.

06

Easy admin in writing

A short Bangla-English Loom video walkthrough plus a written PDF showing exactly how you add products, change prices, mark orders shipped and refund a customer without calling me.

In focus

Why Dhanmondi ecommerce sites fail (and how I design around it)

Dhanmondi is unusual in Dhaka. The buyer is mostly women aged 22 to 45, lives in or near the neighborhood, already follows your brand on Instagram, has a working card, and is comfortable paying upfront with bKash if the site looks trustworthy. She is not a Daraz price shopper — she is comparing your boutique to Aarong, Yellow, Sailor and the small designer brands on Road 27.

That means three things have to be true on your site within the first five seconds: the photography has to match the quality of your physical shop, the price has to feel justified (not hidden behind 'inbox for price'), and the checkout has to feel as smooth as ordering from foodpanda. Get any one of those wrong and she screenshots the product, sends it to a friend on WhatsApp, and forgets you exist.

When I design an ecommerce site for a Dhanmondi brand I plan for that exact buyer journey. Product pages get full-bleed photography, real fabric/material details, clear size charts in inches and CM, a delivery estimate that mentions Dhanmondi pickup if you offer it, and a one-page checkout that does not ask her to create an account just to spend 4,500 taka. The cart remembers her items if she closes the tab. The order confirmation hits her phone before the Messenger ping does.

And if a customer is shopping at 11pm and chooses cash on delivery, the order routes straight into the dashboard so your team can confirm it on WhatsApp the next morning without re-entering anything. That is the work — not a slideshow on the homepage.

Frequently asked

Straight answers before we build.

Honest answers to what most Dhanmondi boutique and lifestyle brand owners ask me before signing.

Dhanmondi te ekta ecommerce website design er koto taka lagbe?

My ecommerce builds start at 50,000 BDT for a clean, fully working store with up to about 25 products, bKash/Nagad/card payments and one courier integration. A larger Dhanmondi boutique catalogue with 100+ SKUs, variant management (size and colour), wishlist and a proper blog usually lands between 90,000 and 1,50,000 BDT. Fully custom builds with bespoke design, ERP/POS sync or multi-vendor features start from 3,00,000 BDT. I quote in writing after a short scope call so there is no 'and then they added charges' surprise.

Do you only work with clients who can come to a Dhanmondi office?

No. I run a remote practice, so the entire project is handled over WhatsApp, Zoom and email. If you prefer, I am happy to meet once for a kickoff at a cafe in Dhanmondi 27 or Road 11. Most of my clients in your area never need an in-person meeting — they send product photos via Google Drive, approve mockups in Figma comments, and we ship in a few weeks.

Can the site handle Bangla product names, sizes and customer addresses?

Yes. The admin supports Bangla typing for product titles, variant labels and descriptions, and the checkout form accepts Bangla address inputs — important because a lot of Dhanmondi orders end up shipping to Mirpur, Mohammadpur and Uttara relatives where the recipient writes the address in Bangla. Email and SMS confirmations can also go out in Bangla if you want.

Will my site work for customers shopping from a mobile in a Friday evening traffic jam?

Yes — that is actually the default I design for. Roughly nine out of ten Dhanmondi ecommerce orders come from a phone, often on patchy 4G. I keep image sizes lean, use modern formats, lazy-load product grids and avoid heavy sliders so category pages open quickly even on a slow connection in Kalabagan or Lalmatia.

I already sell through Facebook and Instagram DMs — do I really need a website?

If your monthly DM orders feel chaotic, if you lose track of who paid and who promised to send bKash later, or if a customer ever said 'apnar website ache?' before buying, then yes. A real ecommerce site removes the 'inbox for price, send bKash, screenshot please' loop, captures customer emails for future drops, and lets a buyer at 1am check out without a human reply. Most of my Dhanmondi clients still keep their Facebook page — the website just becomes the place where serious buyers actually pay.

After launch, who maintains the site if something breaks?

I do, and I stay reachable. For the first 30 days after launch any bug, broken payment callback or layout issue is fixed at no extra charge. After that I offer optional monthly care from a small retainer fee, or you can call me only when you need something — uploading a new collection, fixing a courier rate change, or adding a Eid sale banner — and pay per task. There is no lock-in and no auto-renewing contract designed to trap you.
