How to tell a fair cheap quote from a padded one in Gulshan
Cheap WordPress in Gulshan gets dangerous from two directions at once, and you have to watch both. On one side is the 8,000-taka offer that is too good to be real: a nulled theme on overstuffed shared hosting that breaks or gets hacked within months. The Dhaka market is full of those, and they are a false economy everywhere, not just here. But Gulshan has a second trap the rest of the city mostly doesn't, and it is the one that quietly costs you more: the padded quote.
The same ordinary WordPress build, the same theme, the same week of work, quoted at two or three lakh because the vendor assumes a Gulshan office can absorb it. You end up paying corporate-custom money for a brochure site, and the extra lakh buys you nothing but the vendor's margin.
Here is how to read a quote honestly. Ask what the site has to do. If the answer is a 5 to 7 page site that explains who you are, shows your work, and gets a serious enquiry into your inbox, that is a 50,000 BDT job in Gulshan or anywhere else, and you should be suspicious of anyone quoting far above it without adding real scope.
The number should only climb when the work genuinely does: a deeper build with custom sections, a blog tuned for SEO, and tighter Bangla typography sits at 90,000 BDT; a full small-business site with custom post types and a proper lead system is 1,50,000 BDT; and a genuinely custom build with memberships, dashboards, or an integration into your CRM or ERP starts at 3,00,000 BDT. A fair quote tracks the scope. A Gulshan-tax quote tracks your address.
Once you can see the difference, cheap stops meaning low quality and starts meaning right-sized.
