Who builds and ships your store
Why Uttara brands choose Shopify and then choose one builder, not an agency
Here is the trap most Uttara founders fall into with Shopify. You start as a Facebook page selling clothes or skincare out of Sector 7, the orders outgrow your inbox, and someone tells you Shopify is the serious-brand move. You sign up, an agency installs the free Dawn theme, bolts on six apps, and hands it back. Now you are paying Shopify in US dollars every month plus four app subscriptions in dollars, your bKash still does not work at checkout because Shopify Payments does not operate in Bangladesh, and the store is making fewer orders than your old Facebook DMs did. The subscription is real and recurring; the store is not earning it back. That is the exact problem I build to solve.
I am RH Fardin, a website designer and developer based in Bangladesh, and I have spent the last five years or so building online stores for founders across Dhaka, with a steady run of them from Uttara, Sector 3 through Sector 14 and out toward the Diabari and RAJUK side. I work alone on purpose. When you message me you reach the person whose hands are on the Liquid and the Figma file, not an account manager who turns your request into a Trello card and disappears for a week. For a Shopify build in particular, that matters more than headcount, because almost every real decision is a judgement call, not a task.
What I actually do for Uttara Shopify clients is specific and unglamorous. I tell you honestly whether Shopify is even right for you versus WooCommerce given your margins and order volume — because that monthly dollar bill is not a footnote when you are selling 200-taka-margin products. If Shopify is the right call, I architect the theme properly instead of stacking apps, customize the Liquid so the store is yours and not a recognizable template, wire bKash and Nagad through a Bangladesh-supported gateway app like SSLCommerz, aamarPay or ShurjoPay, set up cash-on-delivery with phone verification and Pathao/Steadfast/RedX courier flow, and write the product pages for a buyer scrolling on a mid-range Android at 11pm. Then I hand you a Loom walkthrough for adding products, changing prices and running a sale.
I am not the cheapest Shopify person in Uttara. There are people in Facebook groups who will spin up a Shopify store for 15,000 or 20,000 BDT — meaning they install a free theme, leave bKash unsolved, and walk. You then pay several times that to make it actually sell. My floor is 50,000 BDT and on the first call I will tell you straight whether your project is worth that, whether you would be better on WooCommerce to kill the monthly fee, or whether you should stay on a Facebook page for now and come back when your order volume justifies a real store. That honesty is the whole point of hiring one senior person instead of a sales desk.
